What a bespoke engagement is

These are fixed-fee, time-bound strategic projects. The outputs, the scope and the completion date are agreed in writing before any work begins, so you know what you are commissioning, what it produces and when it ends.

The work may combine several strands of commercial evidence, strategic decision-making and implementation planning, but it is always commissioned as one defined project with agreed outputs and a clear completion point.

You commission a defined piece of work and receive it, rather than buying blocks of time.

Who this is for

Established charities and social enterprises with a specific commercial challenge and an accountable senior sponsor who can commission the work and sign it off. You will need an internal lead who can act on the findings between sessions, and a decision the work is there to produce.

How it works

1. Send us the challenge

Five questions: what the challenge is, what the work should produce and by when, who owns it and who signs it off, who internally will act on it, and the budget range under consideration. The form takes a few minutes.

2. A fit conversation

A short free conversation to understand the challenge properly, and to be straight with you. If one of our established programmes is the stronger fit, we will recommend that route instead.

3. A written scope and a fixed fee

If it is a fit, you receive the proposed outputs, the timetable, the completion date and a fixed fee, before any work begins.

4. The engagement

Work runs to the agreed scope and ends on the agreed date. Further work is a new scope, priced separately.

Pricing

Every engagement is scoped around a defined set of outputs and priced as a fixed fee, agreed once the brief is clear.

Scoped and priced individually.
